Genesis 2:19-20
Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.
God charges us to take care of his creation. Maybe this verse doesn't portray it very well, so if you have any, please tell me. Anyway, God didn't just name the animals himself, he asked Adam to.
Genesis 2:15
The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
We must take care of creation. God puts it very plainly here.
I've been thinking'; instead of just going green/recycling for the future generations or to prevent global warming...let's go green for God. Gives it a whole lot more meaning doesn't it? When we recycle, we're protecting God's creation, aren't we? We're following him/his instructions.
So, I have decided to recycle ass much as possible. Starting at home--all that paper we use.
Church too. We use an amazing amount of energy. Ever noticed how cold it is in church? Aren't we wasting electricity by putting the air-con on so cold? Everyone brings jackets/sweaters.
Basically, I'm going to go green for Jesus.
YOU?
